Excelsior MF-940 Acrylic Matte Floor Finish, in a one gallon container, provides exceptional finish clarity, and a natural looking low-glare sheen. MF-940 is infused with Intersept®, an antimicrobial preservative that protects the finished floor against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi, including odor and stain-causing microorganisms. Intersept is registered with the EPA and meets stringent certification standards.
Use Excelsior Matte Acrylic Finish on vct, lvt, solid vinyl tile, quartz tile and rubber flooring. One gallon of MF-940 will cover 2500 - 3000 square feet with one coat of flooring finish.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Prior to initial finish application, remove all previous site-applied wax finish with the Excelsior FR-920 or the Excelsior PR-930 for pH sensitive flooring materials. Completely rinse the floor after finish removal so there is no chemical or substance remaining on the floor that may inhibit the bond or have a negative effect on the appearance of the matte finish. Ensure flooring is completely dry prior to applying finish.
APPLICATION
Before applying flooring finish, sweep, dust mop and/or vacuum to remove dirt, dust and debris from flooring surface. Do not use a vacuum with beater bar or electric duster with hard bottom surface that might scuff the floor.
Using a microfiber pad or clean mop, apply 3-4 thin, even coats of the MF-940 Matte Finish for initial application or 1-2 coats for recoating. Allow finish to dry 30 minutes between coats and 24 hours before allowing light foot traffic on the finished floor. Do not use fans to move air as this could affect finish quality. Restrict foot traffic while finish is drying to prevent disturbing finish. Ensure first coat is completely dry and hardened prior to apply subsequent coatings. Environments with higher humidity may require additional drying time.
After the final coat of finish is applied and dry, the floor is ready for light use. Allow finish to cure for 24 hours prior to heavy use or placing heavy furniture on the floor.
FLOOR & FINISH PROTECTION
Cover floor with Masonite or similar when moving equipment, appliances or heavy furniture. Whenever possible, use dollies or hand-trucks with soft rubber wheels.
Do not slide or drag pallets, furniture or heavy equipment across new finish.
Furniture casters must be made of a soft material for use on a hard surface floor.
All furniture casters and legs must have a contact point of at least 1-inch in diameter and be proportionate to the size of the furniture item.
Furniture that moves on floor must have appropriately sized soft rubber or felt furniture floor protectors on all contract points to reduce indentation in floor finish and minimize scuffs and scratches.
All rolling chairs or seating must have soft casters and be on a resilient flooring chair pad installed over the finished floor to protect finish and floor covering. Place walk-off mats at outside entrances. Ensure mats are manufactured with non-staining backs to prevent discoloration.
